Nera SatCom joins forces with Thrane & Thrane
Thrane & Thrane announced the acquisition of
Nera SatCom, following an offer made by Thrane &
Thrane and accepted by Nera ASA, the owner of
Nera SatCom.
The sale of Nera SatCom to Thrane & Thrane
creates an unmatched, global leader within
Mobile Satellite Systems based upon the two main
driving forces in development of Inmarsat land
earth stations and terminals throughout the last
25 years. The acquisition marks the start of a
new era for both Nera SatCom and Thrane &
Thrane, as well as our loyal partners offering
new opportunities to serve more customers and
serve customers even better.
With the acquisition of Nera SatCom, Thrane &
Thrane aims to combine and leverage more
effectively, leading edge technologies, core
competencies and resources, in a way, which
enables the combined company to maintain its
commitment to investments in technological
innovations and to present to global customers
and partners the widest, most innovative and
most competitive offering within mobile
communication products and solutions.
The management teams of Thrane & Thrane and Nera
SatCom will use the coming months to develop a
more detailed business plan for the new combined
company. Furthermore, due to the size of the
acquisition, Thrane & Thrane has filed for
approval of the acquisition with local
authorities in various countries. We expect that
it will be business as usual well into the fall
for both Thrane & Thrane and Nera SatCom.
Nera SatCom realize that our partners may have
questions relating to what implications the
acquisition will have in their local markets,
and we will be committed to bring out pertinent
updates to all partners as early and frequently
as possible. For now, however, we urge our
partners to maintain focused on the activities
already set in motion and continue business as
usual.
